Wednesday, July 3, was dedicated to the heroic deeds of our defenders-cimivci, reflected in the day’s motto “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

The campers heard talks on CYM’s various designations for druzhynnyky, CYMivci on the shield and an introduction to Ukrainian student clubs and their activities presented by Larysa Hemon and Katherine Kolesnik.

An unexpected guest visited the camp, namely the new parish priest of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in St. Catharines, a long-time CYM member, Father Roman Dusanowsky.

In the evening, the Vyshkilnyky prepared a moving tribute to both our fallen CYM defenders who gave their most precious – their lives and those in the diaspora who are fighting for the betterment of Ukraine with their tireless work, as our beloved friend Stepan Romaniw, former Vice President of the CYM World Executive and Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress.
