Throughout the day, campers took part in group singing, a discussion dedicated to this year’s SUM slogan, “Let Victory Begin with Me,” and rehearsed the camp dance.
From the afternoon until evening, the “FIFA” soccer tournament took place. Teams representing Belgium, Argentina, Great Britain, France, and Spain competed in intense matches, demonstrating team spirit, athletic enthusiasm, and fair play.
Every day at “Veselka” camp brings new adventures, challenges, and memories, and today was no exception. From creative activities to camp traditions, the campers once again spent the day being active, having fun, and doing something meaningful.
Throughout the day, the campers took part in rotations that included crafts—where they made rosaries for Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines—singing, swimming, and outdoor skills, during which they built lean-tos in the forest, as well as practicing camp dances.
In the evening, the children enjoyed a fun-filled evening of games, laughter, and friendly competition. Another day at camp ended with happy smiles, new memories, and anticipation for what the next day would bring.
Throughout the day, the campers participated in singing sessions, where they continued learning the camp song; an outdoor skills session, during which they learned how to tie knots; and a crafts session, where they mastered the basics of embroidery. Everyone also had fun on the inflatable water slides, swam together, and took group photos as a memento of the camp.
In the evening, a nighttime event took place, dedicated to the legend of “Mr. Tomato.” The groups competed against each other in a fun auction, demonstrating their quick wits, team spirit, sense of humor, and speed. The event brought the children lots of laughter, friendly competition, and another evening that will remain in the campers’ hearts for a long time.
Throughout the day, participants took part in rotations focused on sports (Frisbee), outdoor orientation, crafts, and singing, preparing for the evening celebration of Ivan Kupala. During the crafts session, the boys made traditional crosses, while the girls wove wreaths.
To wrap up the day, the oldest boys and girls set off for their “camp within a camp.” Around the campfire, they enjoyed s’mores, and later spent the night in tents, creating memories that will long remind them of their summer at camp “Veselka” .
Today, the Fairy of Cleanliness and the Fairy of Messiness reminded us that order and cleanliness are an important part of real camp life. Throughout the day, the cabins participated in sports, crafts, and singing activities, getting to know each other better, learning, and becoming a true team.
The evening began on “Veselka TV,” where the ceremonial lighting of the camp’s main fire kicked off the “Sparks of Hope LIVE” show. During “Sparks of Hope LIVE,” each group presented a creative promotional video, showcasing what makes them special. Each performance became its own spark, and together they created what our camp is all about—“Sparks of Hope.”
From this fire, each group lit its lantern, and later, each camper lit their own sparkler. Holding our lit sparks in our hands, we sang “Raise the Flags” together, because when everyone brings their own light, all the sparks unite into one great flame of hope.
In the evening, the “Sparks of Hope Live” night event took place around the campfire, during which each group introduced itself with a creative skit and its own group chant. To conclude the evening, all participants received flashlights and sparklers as symbols of “Sparks of Hope,” which each group will carry with them throughout the camp. The atmosphere of the evening was filled with joy, unity, and anticipation of unforgettable days at camp.
