The first week
The first week at Camp St. Basil’s in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, has come to a successful close!
Under the theme “Victory” and with the powerful slogan “Let victory begin with me!” our younger campers spent some unforgettable days. We learned, danced, and—most importantly—laughed a lot!

Each camper has already taken their first step toward victories both big and small. We’re so proud of our youth!

Camp wedding

A camp wedding is not just a celebration, but also an important educational experience, as we teach our youth about Ukrainian traditions and customs.

From the church service to traditional wedding songs, the wedding loaf, and the festivities—all of this helps create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Tuesday – July 14
The third day of camp at Pigeon Lake in Alberta flew by incredibly quickly—it was fun and productive!
Today, our campers learned more about the Armed Forces of Ukraine, got creative with arts and crafts, sang camp songs, and wrapped up the day with an exciting soccer match.

Every day brings new knowledge, friendships, team spirit, and unforgettable memories. There are still many adventures ahead!

Sunday – July 12
Today marked the start of the camp at Pigeon Lake for the junior youth groups from the Edmonton and Calgary branches!
The first evening began with the arrival of the youth and a ceremonial opening assembly. Afterward, everyone gathered for dinner, learned the camp rules, and held their first patrol activities.
We wrapped up the day with an evening sing-along under the open sky—not even the mosquitoes could get the better of us. There are still plenty of adventures, new friendships, and unforgettable camp memories ahead!
