Today, July 6, CYM Canada held the first ever opening ceremony for a virtual counsellor-in-training camp in the history of CYM global.
44 participants are from the following branches: Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Etobicoke, Mississauga and Saint Catharines, Canada, and Whippany, New Jersey, USA.
During the virtual opening ceremony, the following individuals were introduced to run the counsellor-in-training camp: Harry Nesmasznyj – komendant, Natalka Schturyn and Tanya Choly – co-head counsellors. Distinguished guests included the President of CYM Canada, Yuri Broda, the World Executive Head Counsellor, Maria Polischuk, and the Head Counsellor of Great Britain, Hanya Szlachetko.
The first day’s lessons and presentations were all dedicated to CYMoznavtso (knowledge about CYM). This year’s motto ”Зродились ми великої години„ and it’s meaning for generations of CYMivci was presented by Sviatoslav Lypovetskyj from Ukraine, “Zakony starshoho yunatstva” by Laryssa Stech and “Characteristics of a CYMivec” by Tanya Choly.
Although this year’s camp, is unfortunately taking place virtually, we hope that all participants nevertheless will find joy in sharing common memories and experiences and hopefully will make even new friends, albeit virtually.
