The first week of CYM Veselka’s day camp “God and Ukraine” named after Mykola Pavlushkov started on July 15thand ended July 19thwith 22 children and 6 sklad members. The campers started off their week with learning CYM 101 such as “Hartuis!” and what CYM stood for. 

During the week they learned about topics such as: 1. Ivana Kupala- where they enjoyed a video about what it is and even got to jump over a little “fire”CYMoznatsvo– scavenger hunt having to find where flags of countries where CYM exists, a puzzle of the emblem and learned CYM greetings. 2. Special days during the week included: CYM day, Ukraine day and crazy hair day. Campers also got to frog catch, do arts and crafts, play sports, swim every day and spend time at their favourite place…the park!

Week 2 of day camp started on July 22th and ended on the 26thwith 19 campers and 4 sklad. The second week of day camp placed an emphasis on learning the rules of CYM such as “Love and Respect Nature” and “Love and Listen to your Parents.” Campers even got to present little skits about the zakony they learned to one another!

Week 2 also came from special visits from an obstacle course, sponsored by Buduchnist Credit Union and Hands on Exotic. During the week, campers also got to roast marshmallows, do a nature scavenger hunt, swim, sports day, tye-dye and of course, go to the park!

Our final and third week started on July 29thand ended August 2ndwith 9 children and 3 sklad. Although a smaller group than the previous 2 weeks still just as exciting! Our campers got to enjoy a special pajama day followed by a movie, arts and crafts, learned about kozaky, singing, scavenger hunts, swimming and sports.
