Yesterday’s distinguished guest was Ukraine’s ambassador to Canada, while today our virtual counsellor-in-training camp was delighted to welcome Canada’s former ambassador to Ukraine, Roman Waschuk.
Mr. Roman Waschuk in his presentation focussed on the major projects with which Canada has been assisting Ukraine over the last few years, mainly in the spheres of civic society, democracy building, police and military reform. Additionally, he explained the role of the Embassy in facilitating economic cooperation and business projects, and encouraged all participants to apply the skillset obtained by being a member of CYM in developing Ukraine’s civil society.
Former long-standing member of CYM’s National Executive Lida Narozniak and CYM Mississauga Branch President Nestor Sanajko, in their respective groups, explained not only what it means to be a leader but the various forms of leadership encouraging each and everyone to work in achieving and developing the necessary skills and characteristics to become a leader themselves.
