Vyshkilnyj Camp       07/02 – 07/15

Vyshkilnyj Camp is the first step to leadership for teens in our organization. At camp, the youth reveal their hidden abilities and acquire skills that will allow them to become not only counselors and educators in their branches, but future leaders of СУМ! Successful completion of this counselor-in-training camp allows our oldest youth to apply to other programs, such as the Leadership Seminar in Washington, DC, and Obmin Vykhovnykiv.  Participants should be proficient in Ukrainian, since all training is conducted in that language. Graduates of Vyshkilnyj Camp often serve as junior counselors at our various СУМ summer camps, and then during the school year in their respective home chapters.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• Completed 9th grade of High School
• Attended at least one СУМ camp as a member of starshe yunatstvo
• The participant must attend the full two weeks of camp
• Only for СУМ members
• There will be no parental visits or free time on Sunday
• Camp cost: $1200

Starshoyunatskyj Camp       07/08 – 07/15

The camp is intended for young men and women who have not yet fulfilled the prerequisites of Vyshkilnyj Camp. The daily camp program is extremely interesting and diverse. There are separate activities, but sometimes campers join Vyshkilnyj for joint projects. The task of the camp is to prepare youth for the next stage of their СУМ Training.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• Completed 8th grade of school attended daily
• One-week camp, from Saturday to Saturday
• Camp cost: $600 for active СУМ members; $750 for others

Praktychnyj Camp       07/16 – 07/22

Bring your own tent and live in the wild. Together, participants work to build the campsite near our stream where they’ll live, learn and have fun.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• At least 10 years old on the first day of camp
• Separate programs for starshe (to age 16) and molodshe yunatstvo (from age 10) 
• One-week camp, from Sunday to Saturday
• Camp cost: $600 for active СУМ members; $750 for others

Vidpochynkovyj Camp       07/16 – 07/29  

At this recreational sleep-away camp, kids will experience a variety of exciting activities and projects which will instill an appreciation of Ukrainian culture. This year’s overarching theme of Kyivan Rus will immerse campers in the ancient beginnings of Kyiv. Daily discussion about current events, sports activities, evening bonfires and games, traditional Ukrainian singing and dancing will lend themselves to help build your camper’s self-confidence.  Your children will sleep at the camp dormitories and be supervised around-the-clock by trained junior and senior level counselors. There’s a surprise around every corner and new life-long friendships to be made within the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains. Your child needs to be at least 6 years old on the first day of camp (and up to age 14). New this year will be a younger-aged camp program (6-9 year olds) and a separate program for older campers (10-14 year olds).

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• At least 6 years old on the first day of camp (and up to age 14)
• Separate sub-camps for molodshi and starshi
• Two-week camp, but there is an option to stay for only one week
• Camp cost: $1200 (or $600 per week) for active СУМ members; $1500 (or $750 per week) for others

Vidpochynkovyj DAY Camp       07/16 – 07/29  

This day camp option was created for children who will have completed Kindergarten this year (in June 2023) but aren’t ready for overnight tabir. According to our СУМ guidelines, Sumenyata become members of the “Molodshe Yunatstvo” after reaching their 6th birthday. So the young participants of this day camp will join their older friends in the Vidpochynkovyj Camp program. They will also learn the basic details of camp life: the ceremonies and structure of our camps, learning to build new friendships, cleaning their rooms, and other essentials for their future camp life. After an adventurous day, the day campers will be picked up after dinner to spend the night with their parents.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• Completed Kindergarten (of school attended daily) in June 2023
• Day camp option is available for one week or two weeks
• Camp cost: $450 per week

Sumenyata Camp       07/16 – 07/22  &  07/23 – 07/29

Is your child 4-5 years old? And do you have time for some rest in the second half of July? We offer the best option – SUMENYATA CAMP!!! 

Over the course of a week or two, your child will be able to make new friends, have a ton of fun, and most importantly, learn a lot about what it’s like to “Be a cool Sumenyatko”! Evening dances (zabava), bonfires, walks to the stream, water games, dancing, singing, field games – all this and much more awaits your children! Camping days will pass like one day! We promise, your children will be in good hands and have a lot of fun! We look forward to meeting you! 

Lastly! Children are in the camp under the care of educators/counselors from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Sumenyata Camp differs from other camps in that the child participates in the camp during the day (lunch for the participant is included), and spends the night privately with parents.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• At least 4 years old on the first day of camp and has NOT completed Kindergarten
• 2 one-week sessions; you can enroll your child in either one or both weeks
• Camp cost: $700 (or $350 per week)

Husenyata Camp       07/16 – 07/22

A day camp for potty-trained three-year-olds. Your little one will play and learn alongside other toddlers, in a Ukrainian language environment, and make new friends. Lunch for the participant and one parent is included.

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• At least 3 years old on the first day of camp and potty-trained (and up to age 4½)
• One-week day camp
• Camp cost: $350

Sportovyj Camp      07/30 – 08/12

Sports enthusiasts will love this summer camp. Fresh air, exercise and plenty of outdoor activities all around our expansive oselia is what you should expect. Campers choose what sports they’ll participate in – tennis, soccer, volleyball, swimming and more!

Age requirements/prerequisites:

• At least 8 years old on the first day of camp (and up to age 16)
• Two-week camp, but there is an option to stay for only one week
• Camp cost: $1200 (or $600 per week) for active СУМ members; $1500 (or $750 per week) for others
