Oselia at 70: Honor the Past, Building the Future

In 1955, a group of Ukrainian immigrants, newly arrived, but full of determination, came together with a bold vision: to build a home for the Ukrainian American Youth Association (CYM) and its members. With limited resources but boundless dedication, they carved out a place where Ukrainian culture, identity, and community could grow and thrive for generations.

From those humble beginnings, Oselia CYM Ellenville was born. It is not just a campground, but a cultural sanctuary, a summer refuge, and a second home for thousands of Cymivtsi across the country.

Today, as we mark the 70th anniversary of Oselia, now Oselia CYM Karpaty, we are called to reflect and more importantly – to act.

It’s now our responsibility to continue what they began. To preserve what they built. And to ensure that Oselia Karpaty remains strong, safe, and vibrant for the next 70 years.

$70,000 for 70 Years of Oselia

To celebrate this milestone, we are asking our community to help raise $70,000 as part of our larger capital campaign to fund essential renovations, repairs and long-term improvements.

Oselia Karpaty’s projected revenue will cover part of the costs, but to complete all of the work that’s urgently needed, we need your help. We can’t do this without you.

Critical Projects for 2025

These are top-priority projects that must be completed to maintain safety and core operations:

• 6 Roofs in Tabir – $65,000
• French Drainage System (6 buildings in Tabir) – $240,000
• Commercial Generators (Tabir, Kitchen, Hotel) – $100,000

Total Critical Needs: $405,000

Ongoing Projects

These are items that are required for basic operations and maintain our facilities.

• General Maintenance – Variable / Situational
• Oselia Landscaping / Groundskeeping – Variable / Situational

Budget-Dependent Projects

These improvements will directly enhance the experience of our campers, volunteers, and families. They will help make Oselia more functional, welcoming and future-ready. This also enables greater use of the property outside the regular season and creates additional revenue-generating opportunities

• Tabir Heating – $108,000 ($18,000 per building – 6 buildings total)
• Electric Stations for Camping Areas – Cost TBD
• Water hookups & Sewer Lines for Camping Areas – $30,000
• Road Paving – $400,000
