Monday’s motto read “Ukraine remembers – the world acknowledges” which coincides with the international motto to commemorate the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-33.
The camp was visited by the Holodomor Mobile Classroom, an innovative project sponsored by the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the Ukrainian-Canadian Research and Documentation Centre. Through the use of videos and interactive i-pads, the participants learned about the history of the Holodomor.
The camp is grateful to Ms. Roma Dzerowicz, the executive director of the Holodomor Mobile Classroom for organizing this extraordinary educational experience.
In the afternoon, the campers had more time at the pool, as well as time for group projects and a sing-a-long.
In the evening, the campers had a bon-fire with a lively and humorous program.
