On Saturday July 5th, after our field trip to Niagara Falls, the all-Canadian Leadership Camp resumed it’s regularly-scheduled activities. Regular lectures resumed before lunch, focusing on current events in Ukraine, led by Druh Harry Nesmasznyj and child development lectures by Podruha Hanya Ostapiuk. Sumoznavstvo began this week with the arrival of Druh Marko Diaczun. The campers also welcomed Podruha Natalia Kardasz, who led an arts and crafts session. In the evening the campers presented their group projects, highlighting this year’s focus topics including Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Makivka, the 80th anniversary of the birth of poet Vasyl Symonenko, the 45th anniversary of the death of activist Alla Horska and the 65th anniversary of the death of Roman Shukhevych. We marked the end of the day with a wonderful Vatra. Special thanks to Druzi Orest Tucki and Dmytro Pronych.
