On Sunday, July 3, the All-Canadian Counsellor-in-Training camp began at camp Veselka near Acton, Ontario. The camp began with the traditional Divine Liturgy served by Fr. Borys Hemon, followed by the opening ceremony – apel.

This year 30 young counsellors, including 18 girls and 12 boys from Canada, USA and Ukraine, joined the camp.

On the first evening, Marichka Shevchenko from Kyiv, shared her thoughts on what it means to live and witness this brutal war.

At the end of the first day, all vyshkilnyky prepared welcome banners for the 150+ children from Ukraine who will be starting their two week Day Camp session the following day. In total 250+ children, who had to flee the brutal war in Ukraine will be camping throughout the entire month of July at camp Veselka.
