Camp ”Illuminating Path” at Werchowyna – Day 8

On Monday, July 22 at camp “Illuminating Path” dedicated to our CYMivci-Defenders at camp Werchowyna the kids were getting ready for Ivana Kupala. While the girls made flower crowns, the boys were making their unsinkable ships. They also had a hutirka about why we celebrate Ivana Kupala.

After lunch, they were able to go swim to cool down for a bit before getting back to work. The boys made a small fire on the girls pidtabir while the girls were fixing their singing for the evening ahead.

After dinner we had apel and the boys went to go put on their swimsuits and the girls went to get their crowns and vyshyvanky. Before going to the lake we stopped at the church to renew our christening vows. The girls made their way down by song as the boys followed with their boats in hand. Once at the lake we sang and the boys let go of their boats in the water. Afterwards, the girls threw their crowns for the boys to go get them. Once the sun set, we lit the fire and let the kids jump over it. We ended the evening with “Ніч вже йде”.
