Sunday, is traditionally our visitation day where families can visit their children. This July 21, the recreational overnight camp “Unbreakable”, dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at Veselka, however, was in particular exciting because the morning started off with a Divine Liturgy served by Bishop Bryan Bayda, Eparch of Toronto and Eastern Canada and Father Borys Hemon, chaplain of CYM Mississauga. We sincerely thank them both for joining us today and for a wonderful service.
After our liturgy, families were invited to stay at our campgrounds to have barbecues, use our swimming pool, and other facilities. Around 3 pm the campers lit their hand-made rockets into the sky. Once visitation was over, we had a bon fire to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our campground “Veselka”. To commemorate this event, each cabin created a skit along with a song to present to the parents and other campers. Followed by this, we sang happy birthday and had cake with the parents that were present.
Lastly, to end off the night, participants had a cance to view a fireworks show! We thank everyone for making this night possible and so special!
We would also like to thank all of our sponsors for their generous gifts to make this year’s camp season special, namely: Toronto Ukraine Foundation, BCU Financial & Ukrainian Credit Union!
