Charitable Camp WARRIOR SPIRIT

We are pleased to inform you that the CYM National Executive in Ukraine, under the auspices of the World Executive, is organizing the eigth charity camp for 100 children of fallen Heroes and missing soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine titled “WARRIOR SPIRIT”, which will take place from July 13 to 26, 2026. It is expected that 100 young boys and girls from different parts of Ukraine and 30 staff members will participate.

The details are as follows:

Who: Children of fallen Heroes and missing soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Age: 8-15 years old

Geography of participants: all of Ukraine

Number of participants: 130 people. Children – 100 people, Educational and instructional staff – 30 people

Purpose of the camp: Psycho-emotional assistance to children of fallen and missing heroes, education of patriotism and civic position.

The camp program features art therapy, which includes such major art forms as drawing, music, literature, dance, theater, but primarily focuses on working with bodily and emotional intelligence through physicality, movement, improvisation in the context of trauma, psycho-emotional recovery and stress resistance, through learning about folk traditions, arterial therapy, music, sports and travel.

The educational and instructional staff of the camp includes members of the Ukrainian Youth Association, professional art therapists, psychologists, theater artists, and musicians who will prepare and implement the program on a pro bono basis.

Interested CYMivci who would like to join the team or counsellor staff should contact CYM’s National Executive as soon as possible to receive a written recommendation from the National Executive of CYM Canada to participate as a counsellor in the camp.

Depending on the success of the crowdsourcing campaign, the National Executive will provide a subsidy to 1 – 2 counselors in the amount of $500 – $750 to cover the cost of the flights. Camp living expenses are covered by the organizers!

Financial Campaign – As in previous years, the financial burden for this charity camp is approximately US $35,000, split between the World Executive and all the National Boards. Obviously, the largest commitments have been made by the U.S. and Canadian National Executives and the World Executive. Therefore, we are calling on our entire membership, to help us raise at least $7,500 (USD) to carry out this extremely important charitable project.
