In light of the 70th anniversary of Ukrainian migration in Australia, the National Executive of the Ukrainian Youth Association in Australia organised the Jubilee National Youth Summer Camp, which was held at the “Karpaty” camping ground in Buxton, Melbourne, Victoria. The camp was held from 26th December 2018 to 3rd January 2019 under the motto ‘Stronger Together!’.

Over 200 participants and guests from different branches across Australia came together as one CYM family. Many new friends were made and everlasting memories. The camp program included hikes, sport, games, laser tag, educational programs and so on. Participants also greeted the New Years together with a traditional ‘Vatra’ and a New Year’s Party.
Remembering the current war in Ukraine, participants of the camp had created and signed Christmas greetings that will be sent to Ukrainian political prisoners who are being illegally detained in Moscow’s prisons.

The National Executive thanks all participants, Komanda members, educators, kitchen staff, parents and all those who assisted in the successful running of the camp. A special thank you to CYM Melbourne for hosting the camp at its camp ground.
