On November 18, 2016, our Ukrainian community along with our Goshen CYM Oseredok, traveled to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. There we commemorated the 83rd year anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine. Thousands participated in this solemn event to remember the famine’s millions of innocent victims between 1932-1933 under Stalin’s regime. A funeral service was beautifully conducted. Many Bishops, along with Ukrainian and American government officials, spoke in support and recognition of this tragic occurrence. Prior to the service, children carried wheat and candles in a procession to place on a memorial table at the front of the cathedral.
