Finally! All the children had been eagerly looking forward to this day. Early in the morning, we went to the Sam-Calm resort/campground a short bus-ride away from Werchowyna. This facility has been in operation for only a few years, and offers a variety of activities. Primarily, they have horse stables here, and offer different types of guided trail rides, horse riding lessons, etc. For many of the kids, this was the first time they ever rode a horse. The youngest ones rode around the corral, guided by a steady adult hand, while the older children got to go on a guided tour of the trails around the campground. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Besides this, Sam-Calm has a very cold, deep lake where we all tried to escape the heat. It was incredibly hot & humid this day, and the lake came in handy. In addition, there is an obstacle course with low-ropes, climbing nets, tire tunnels, and even a zip-line. Finally, all the kids went on a “geo-mission”. Given a GPS device and a list of coordinates, they had to locate clues in the wilderness to solve a puzzle. While no one found all the clues, everyone had “fun” getting lost in the forest!

Each horse was lead by an adult.

It’s harder than it looks. Much harder.

This definitely looks like a great Ukie camp. I didn’t Know CYM is at Verhovyna. I’m Probably thinking of the Verhovyna at Glen Spey, NY. Where is this one located?
This camp is an hour north of Montreal, Quebec. God’s country!
