Today is your last opportunity to make a donation to send an Internally Displaced Child to Camp

Each summer The Ukrainian Youth Association runs summer camps across the globe for children, youth and for all ages.

However this summer is also different.  Ukraine is fighting a war in its’ Eastern Regions and 100,000’s of children have lost their homes or been relocated away from their friends. Many have fathers and/or mothers on the front, and some have lost parents or loved ones in this war. According to a recent UNICEF report, over 1.7 million children have been affected by this war. It is for this reason that UYA has decided to run a camp for these children in Ukraine.

The camp will be held in the Chernihiv province of Ukraine, under the watchful eye of volunteers from across the globe, traveling at their own expense to support these children.  Camp dates are from August 9 to 22

The adult to child ratio for the camp will be no more than 1 to 10 children to one supervisor.  It is our hope to be able to fund camp attendance for 75 children from across Ukraine.

The cost to send a single child to camp for 2 weeks is: 300CAD. This cost includes 3 meals, and 2 snacks, travel costs for campers and any and all activities planned for the camp. The Canadian Ukrainian Youth Association has committed to a minimum donation of 4000$ to ensure that the camp runs smoothly and as many possible children can attend.  If we are able to raise more than this amount, we can add additional activities to the program!

Planned activities at camp include:

Sports activities, arts and crafts, health and wellness, singing, and an opportunity for these children to relax and make new and, hopefully, lifelong friends!
