Food Drive in Honor of the Holodomor – Winter 2016

In the winter of 2016, our Dryzhynnyky organized our annual Holodomor Food Drive. Rij Zoloti Levy helped make and distribute boxes to collect the food and post flyers around the community. Food was collected at our Dim CYMA, St. Michael’s Church in Yonkers, and at our SUMA Federal Credit Union. There was also a prize for the rij which brought in the most amount of food by weight!

The Food Drive finished in mid-December. All of the food was collected and donated to the Westchester Food Bank as was done in years past. We collected a grand total of 261 pounds of food, which was donated right before the Christmas holidays! Thank you to everyone who donated food and supported this cause in memory of the Holodomor.
