The annual national Ukrainian Youth Association 5-a-side football competition will take place in Bradford this year on Saturday 18th March.

The tournament will take place between 1-6pm at the Five Alive Soccer, York Street Bradford, BD8 0HR. The soccer centre also has a play area for children, which will be open should any players or spectators wish to keep their family entertained throughout the day.
Stockport are the current champions of the competition, having beaten Bradford the last time the competition was held, in Manchester, in November 2015.
To register a team for the competition, please contact Ewhen Chymera by email ([email protected]) or by phone 07787449675. The entry fee is £99 per team for a 7 man squad, and includes all tournament fees, a post tournament meal, and entry into the after party featuring Tuhaj Bej. Registration is open now, and teams wishing to take advantage of the early bird price must register before 5pm Sunday 5th March. Registration after the 5th March will rise to £120.

The Ukrainian Youth Association of Bradford would also like to invite any women and girls who are interested in a 5-a-side game to show their interest to Ewhen as we hope to host a women’s match. Similarly after the success of the walking football match at the Tarasivka bazar in 2015, we would also like to invite senior footballers to take part in a 7 a-side match on the same day. Again, please contact Ewhen for more information and details.

After the football is completed, UYA in Bradford would like to invite all players, fans, family, friends, SUMivtsi and all others to the Ukrainian Club on Legrams Lane, for food, the presentation and a zabava. Polish-Ukrainian rock band Tuhaj-Bej will be performing at the zabava, you may remember them from the Kultura festival in Manchester in 2016. Supporting Tuhaj-Bej are Huddersfield’s very own Klonk! who appeared at PyvoFest 2016. Tickets for the gig are available now www.ticketsource.co.uk/ukieclublymanbd for £8 or £12 on the door (subject to availability).

It’s not only the music, we’ve invited Smak along to bring their authentic Polish street food, featuring chargrilled Kobasas, Pierogi and Bigos!
UYA in Bradford looks forward to welcoming you all to what will prove to be a memorable occasion.
