Today was the turn of the sumeniata to go on their trip. They visited a farm near Nottingham where they saw how goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, llamas and other animals live.
The first half of the day had the older “starshi” group attending talks about the Cyril-Methodius Brotherhood and a talk about the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) delivered by its head Petro Revko. They then saw the “Heroes Never Die” film, about the “Heavenly Hundred” who died during the “Revolution of Dignity”.
The younger “molodshi” group also learnt about heroes and talked about the symbolism behind the red poppy.
Other than this, cultural activities continued without pause. The camp orchestra had its first full-blown rehearsal, the choir continued practising, dance practices took place around various locations, and in the evening there was a disco…
And all of this after the annual komanda vs yunatstvo football match, which thankfully finished as a draw…………..or did it?
Now that’s interesting! Our юнацтво here in Germany went to see some alpacas! 🙂
