The Leadership Seminar was held parallel to CYM Canada’s AGM from April 5 to 7, 2024 in Hamilton. 38 youth members and young druzhynnyky from the Calgary,Edmonton, Etobicoke, Hamilton, London, Mississauga and Montreal branches took part in the seminar. The seminar was conducted by Natalie Tchoryk and Laryssa Luszczki with the help of guest speakers: Fr. Andrij Figol, Prof. Lubomyr Luciuk and Nestor Sanajko.

The first part of the seminar included participation in the plenary session of the AGM in order to understand the importance of the reporting part of the AGM.

In the work sessions on the topic “Leadership”, the participants had the opportunity to work on the basics of leadership: personal abilities, communication, time management, teamwork, cooperation, purpose and vision, and conflict resolution. In the sessions of “CYMoznavstvo”, the participants examined the various categories of druzhynnyky and the general organizational structure of CYM’s druzhynnyky.

Sunday, April 7, began with a Divine Service in the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Holy Spirit. After breakfast, the participants of the Leadership Seminar had the opportunity to listen to the presentation of Prof. Lubomyr Luciuk about disinformation and the role of the media in general, after which they concluded their working session by presenting completed projects that they had chosen at last year’s seminar.

The culminating point was the presentation of diplomas to the graduates who completed all three modules of the Leadership Seminar: Anika Baczinski from Edmonton, Lina Dankowycz, Melania Schturyn, Justin Booth from Etobicoke, Maria Pedyash and Sofia Zozulyak from Calgary, and Andrew Demusz from Mississauga.

The National Executive expresses its most sincere congratulations to all participants of the Leadership Seminar and wishes them the greatest possible success in their further work in CYM. We also thank all the speakers for their participation and dedication of time to our future leaders.
