The Leadership Seminar was held parallel to CYM Canada’s AGM from April 28 to 30, 2023 in Etobicoke. 35 youth members and young druzhynnyky from the Edmonton, Etobicoke, Calgary, Mississauga, Montreal, and St. Catharines Branches participated in the seminar. The seminar was led by organizers Natalie Tchoryk and Zoriana Kilyk with the help of guest speakers: Fr. Andrij Figol and Nestor Sanajko.

The first part of the seminar included participation in the plenary session of the AGM in order to understand the importance of the reporting part of the AGM.

In the work sessions on the topic “Leadership”, the participants had the opportunity to work on the basics of leadership: personal abilities, communication, time management, teamwork, cooperation, purpose and vision, and conflict resolution. In the “CYMoznavstvo” sessions, the participants considered the role of CYM in umbrella organizations, such as the UCC and the UWC, the various categories of druzhynnyky, and the organizational structure in general.

Sunday, April 30, began with a Divine Service in St. Joseph’s UCC. After breakfast, the participants of the Leadership Seminar concluded their working session by presenting completed projects that they had chosen at last year’s seminar.

The culminating point was the presentation of diplomas to the graduates who completed all three modules of the Leadership Seminar: Olya and Ruslana Glamazda and Anastasia Iwasyk from the Calgary Branch and Katya Halko and Michael Taranko from the Mississauga Branch.

The National Executive expresses its most sincere congratulations to all the participants of the Leadership Seminar and wishes them the greatest possible success in their further work in CYM. We also thank all the speakers for their participation and dedication of time to our future leaders.
