Day three of our first ever virtual vyshkil entailed presentations on contemporary Ukraine and child development, psychology and discipline.
Druh Markian Shwec focused his presentation on Ukraine’s most recent history, starting with its fight for independence one hundred years ago up until the collapse of the Soviet Union and Ukraine’s independence, highlighting the political struggles, the role of the dissidents (shestydesyatnyky), Chornobyl and many other historic events.
He was followed by Irka Szmihelska and Hanya Ostapiuk, two long-standing CYMivky and life-long teachers, who gave the children practical advice on how important it is to adapt to the various stages of child development, the importance to tailor one’s lessons for the specific age group, how to properly and effectively communicate, different teaching styles and appropriate forms of discipline.
