40th Annual General Meeting of the UYA in Great Britain

The 40^th bi-annual general meeting of the Ukrainian Youth Association in Great Britain took place at the UYA site, “Tarasivka”, near Derby on Saturday 16^th April 2016. The AGM was attended by 42 delegates from the following 12 branches: Ashton, Bradford, Wolverhampton, Waltham Cross, Derby, Coventry, Leicester, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Rochdale and Stockport (there were no delegates from Bolton and Gloucester).

During the meeting, the outgoing chair of the national committee, Zenon Finiw reported on the general activities of the UYA during 2015. During the meeting a number of commissions were set up to overview various aspects of UYA activities within Great Britain and made recommendations which were then accepted by the meeting’s delegates. Delegates took an active part in discussions, questions focussed on the activity of the UYA in Great Britain, amongst the topics discussed were the summer camps and the next “Children of heroes in Tarasivka” initiative.

The AGM re-elected Zenon Finiw from Derby to chair the National Committee for the next two years.
