On Saturday 2 March 2018 a panaxida for the peaceful repose of the soul of General Roman Shukhevych was held at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Chicago. Conducted by Bishop Venedykt Aleksiychuk, V. Rev. Bohdan Nalysnyk, V. Rev Oleh Kryvokulsky, and Rev. Volodymyr Hudzan, the panaxida was attended by representatives of Chicago area Derzhavnitsky Front organizations: CYM im. Mykola Pavlushkov, WADFFU im. Alla Horska and ODFFU Branch #8.

General Shukhevych died on 5 March 1950 in a fierce battle with the Russian communists. His heroism and love for God and Ukraine were cited as vivid examples for many generations of Ukrainians as noted in the Sermon given by Bishop Venedykt. General Shukhevych’s sacrifices demand that he never be forgotten.

Eternal memory!
