Слава Україні – Героям Слава

Sunday morning the camp was filled with the voices of guests arriving and children preparing for the celebrations of the day. The first part was the commemoration of the heroes was for all those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. At the memorial, name cards were hung by the younger youths around the symbolic grave, these included the two names of sumivtsi killed in the modern warfare in eastern Ukraine – Eugene Voitsekhivska and Vitaly Volkotruba, along with the names of parents of children who came from Ukraine as part of the “Children of Heroes “.
This was followed by Mass (Divine Liturgy), conducted by Father Matveevskij and attended by camp members and guests.

After lunch -“Popys” was presented, which was diligently prepared during the week and included performances by singers, dancers and musicians. Entertained and moved by the performances, all said their farewells to the guests from Ukraine, Portugal and to Andriy Nesmachniy from Germany, whom undertook the role of commandant during the extremely busy week of Tabir.
