Ukrainian Youth From Around the World Band Together to Support Bush Fire Victims
The CYM Community around the world is stronger than ever! On behalf of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) National Executive in Australia, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our members, friends and families within our CYM communities around the globe.
Together, CYM is pleased to announce that they will be donating $17,210 to the Bushfire Relief Fund – Kolyada for Australia.
Australia has been dealt a significant blow this season, being ravaged by bushfires seeing millions of animals, thousands of acres, hundreds of homes and dozens of lives lost due to these catastrophic fires. It is something the world has never seen before, and something that will be remembered for generations.
CYM has long believed it necessary not only to support humanitarian issues in its homeland of Ukraine, but also to support issues affecting its local communities around the world.
This has been evident by the global support received from its members from all corners of the world including Canada, USA, Ukraine and as well as at home here in Australia.
“The local communities here in Australia have long been supporters of their local Ukrainian Youth Association, whether that be through their camps or community events. It is only fitting that we reciprocate that support during this time of need”, President of CYM Australia, Andrew Duma said.
All funds raised will be going to the Australia Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund through the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisation (CYOA/AFUO) Kolyada for Australia donation drive.
“Every cent counts, when it helps to rebuild communities who have been ravaged by this season’s bushfires.” noted Mr Duma.
