In October this year, Sydney hosted the Invictus Games where injured veterans of combat
operations from various parts of the the world took part. Amongst the countries participating was Ukraine with 15 Ukrainian soldiers and veterans taking part in the games.
The Ukrainian team won a total of 20 medals, 7 of those were gold.
During the Invictus Games, the Ukraine Crisis Appeal – an appeal created by a collaboration between the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO), Rotary Australia
World Community (RAWCS) and Caritas Ukraine – was created to send financial aid to
Ukrainian injured servicemen and women to help with their journey to recovery.
The National Executive of CYM in Australia is proud to announce, to have collected $5,000 AUD for the wounded Ukrainian servicemen and becoming a gold sponsor of Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
