On Saturday, 22nd June 2019, the XXVIII Triennial Meeting of the Australian Federation of Ukrainians in Australia was held in Melbourne at the Association of Ukrainians in Victoria (AUV) Community Hall in honour of the 65th anniversary of AFUO, 70th anniversary of Ukrainian migration to Australia and the 70th anniversary of the Ukrainian Women’s Association in Australia. Members of the National Executive of CYM also took part in the Triennial Meeting.
As a result of the Triennial Meeting and on the proposal of the nomination commission, a new leadership structure was propagated, namely, the principle of a co-chairmanship of the AFUO. A structure that is a real and practical way of an effective future leadership during the last candidacy, the Executive Committee of the AFUO began to systematically nominate younger members to the Board. The proposed co-chair system is a continuation of the plan.
The National Executive of CYM in Australia congratulates the newly elected co-chairs of the AFUO, Stefan Romaniw and Kateryna Argyrou. We wish them all the best in their joint work for the good of our Ukrainian community in Australia!
