June 13, 2009 - General Elections
Our branch held it's General Elections Meeting (or Zahal'ni Zbory) during which officer reports were read, important branch topics were discussed and next year's Executive Board was elected.
June 7, 2009 - Den' Yunatstva
The Philadelphia branch of the UAYA concluded it's 2008-2009 season with Den' Yunatstva at Tryzub Ukrainian American Sport Center. Members of the branch, from our Sumenyata to our Seniors, earned various awards and promotions, participated in a Divine Liturgy, ate good Ukrainian food and spent one last day with one another before the summer! The yunatstvo also put on a Cultural Program for our guests!
May 30, 2009 - Druzhynnyk Phillies Outing
Some of our Druzhynnyky met up for a fun tailgate and to watch the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies defeat the Washington Nationals 9-6!
May 30, 2009 - Fixing the Graves of Our Departed Sumivtsi
Our branch spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery and Lawnview Cemetery, fixing the graves of Sumivtsi that are no longer with us. With much teamwork, we were able to weed and plant flowers at over 35 graves!
May 23-24, 2009 - Zlet L
Our branch spent Memorial Day weekend competing against 12 other branches at the 50th Annual Zlet jamboree. This year, Philadelphia finished in sixth place.
