CULTURAL PROGRAM

The Winnipeg U.Y.A. Branch is active in preserving and propagating Ukrainian culture. Weekly youth meetings include lectures and practical demonstrations of Christmas, Easter and harvest traditions, the art of pysanka writing, embroidery, Ukrainian ceramics and ritual singing and dancing.

Our Branch boasts two musical ensembles:

"Kalyna" Girls Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Ms. Oksana Stanovych. See pictures
"Bulava" Folkloric Ensemble comprising approximately thirty dance and vocal performers with the choreography of Ms. Irka Balan. See pictures

Both ensembles perform at various functions in the Ukrainian community.
